Mildred Pierce’s 75th Anniversary!!!

It was September 28, 1945. That may have put Joan Crawford back on top. It was two years since she made a film. A good five has past. Since, she had a major hit. She’s been in the game since 1924. She was willing to do whatever it took to get back on top. Thankfully, she had a friend in Jerry Wald.

Watching: Queen Bee (1955)

The 1950’s melodramas were so amazing!! Some were ahead of its time. For example Queen Bee starring Joan Crawford. This film is based on a Southern family that is ruled by a tyrant. She wreaks all kinds of havoc and will destroy you. If you’re not on her side.

Watching: This Woman Is Dangerous (1952) This wasn’t terrible as everyone said.

I’ve admired Joan Crawford since I was a kid. The first movie I had seen was “Sadie McKee 1934”. After that I’ve become curious about who is Joan Crawford. I would watch TCM faithfully. Hoping that one of her films would come on. Or, when she was the network’s star of the month.

Watching: Now, Voyager (1942)

Let me start by admitting that I’m a huge fan of the classics. Preferably, with the Golden Era. Those films from back in the day. Actually had a plot. We would see the character struggle then work his/her way up. The stories had structure. The production was fabulous!! These films gave us something special.. It took us on a wild trip to an imaginary world.
