Great news!!! The L train shutdown is now over!! I know that it doesn’t mean much to me. Since, I don’t have a reason to go into Manhattan at the moment. However, when it’s time. My commute will be a good 30 minutes. As oppose to the 97 minutes it would take to get to work. On the weekend. That is just going to work. Heading home for the day, it would probably take a bit longer. $150 going to Uber or Lyft. Working on a Saturday… Almost four hours commuting for a five hour shift. It’s totally not worth a day. Or, the money… I’ll work at home.
The construction was supposed to last until June. Governor Cuomo mapped out a plan and things finished three months ahead of schedule. Imagine if this pandemic didn’t happen. This probably would’ve been completed by March. I’ll be able to spend more time out on Friday nights. Or, if I decide to stay past Happy Hour. There won’t be any issues. The coach will no longer turn into a pumpkin. Trains shutting down while you are tipsy, is not the move!!! Also, I will no longer have anxiety while commuting. I hate being late for anything. I mean…. Just because they fixed the tunnel in Manhattan. That doesn’t mean that the L will not have issues in Brooklyn. For example…. That every 24 minutes in Brooklyn during the afternoon. While probably still be in effect mode. We can only hope!!
Until then…. Stay at home and keep it clean!!!
