This is exactly why I’m extremely leery about joining a group or band. Where do I begin? Jay decides that Lixander, Parsons and Chazz do a song together. Although, I appreciate them lending a favor on a few tracks that I’ve done. It was them adding additional vocals and harmonies. It was really quick and felt good about it. He wanted to see how it would turn out. “I’m not on this one!!” I had to yell about twenty times. Jay talked me into doing it. The instrumentals are fun and all. However, it comes a time when you may have to showcase yourself. It’s been years that my vocal cords have been challenged. I’ve admitted repeatedly that I’m not the greatest. However, I can definitely hold a note. Also, I was told that I have very good range. It’s been a year and three months that I’ve given up cigarettes. That has played a huge part in the change since I’ve sang. Along with a good friend that knows how to tweak vocals in the studio.
It wasn’t too much of a surprise that winter showed her face this weekend. I’ve chalked it as two memorial weekends done the tube. That I was actually excited about. The introvert showed his face and I stayed in. It’s something about Memorial Weekend that just doesn’t sits right with me. The cool thing is I was able to release music this weekend. We’re going into a bit of a funk. Not the bad kind of funk. It’s some pretty dope funk. I came around after the disco era. Diana Ross’s, The Boss was a huge hit. The Bee Gees were doing their thing. Rick James was the man. I’ve started to appreciate disco and funk as I’ve gotten older. Today… I’m obsessed!
