It’s About time!! This is been going on for a hot minute. It’s really good to see two adults come together and put all differences aside. I’m excited to see them resolve this. We’ve seen their interviews separately over the years. Now, we’re going to find out what really happened.
Will Smith and Janet Hubert, the actress who originally played Aunt Vivian on “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” appear to have mended their relationship. Hubert appeared on the first three seasons of the show before she was replaced by Daphne Maxwell Reid for seasons 4-6, beginning in 1993. Since then, Hubert has blasted the Smith and other cast members. In 2011, she said there would “never be a reunion” because Smith is an “a–hole.” In 2017, she trashed Alfonso Ribeiro, aka Carlton, after he posted a reunion photo. “I know the media hoe Alphonso [sic] Ribeiro has posted his so-called reunion photo,” Hubert wrote in a since-deleted Facebook post. “There will never be a true reunion of the Fresh Prince. I have no interest in seeing any of these people on that kind of level.” We all remember that.. A few cast members even had stuff to say about her. This was really bad!!! A bit disrespectful to Janet as well.
Janet Hubert is absolutely everything!! No shade to Daphne Maxwell-Reid. She is wonderful too! I loved her on Frank’s Place. When Janet left The Fresh Prince, I was a teen. However, I was so into the celebrity gossip. I kinda knew what time it was. At the same time… I sided with Janet Hubert. I still do… I’m so not interested in the reunion. We’ve seen them reunite before. This time it’s Janet and Will is what we really want to see. Let’s hear what he has to say. We have heard Janet.
We’re finally going to get to the bottom of this!!!
All six seasons of the show are currently available on HBOmax. The upcoming reunion special was first announced in late August and was scheduled to tape Thursday. It will include Will Smith, Alfonso Ribeiro, Daphne Maxwell Reed, Tatyana Ali, Karyn Parsons, Joseph Marcell, DJ Jazzy Jeff Townes and now, apparently, Janet Hubert.
Also, a dramatic reboot of the ’90s sitcom – simply titled Bel-Air – is in the works and recently got picked up for two seasons.
